Thuku Kariuki - Production Manager

Thuku Kariuki is a dynamic journalist, film producer, communication consultant, and social media strategist whose storytelling bridges purpose and persuasion. With a flair for crafting compelling narratives, Thuku helps brands not only reach their audiences—but move them, inspire them, and keep them coming back.

As a communication consultant, Thuku has worked with leading institutions such as the African Development Bank (AfDB), where he played a key role in amplifying the Bank’s voice to the world during the Africa Climate Summit 2 in Ethiopia. His expertise in strategic communication and digital storytelling helped shape conversations around climate resilience, sustainability, and Africa’s global climate leadership.

Beyond consultancy, Thuku is the CEO of Afrika Live Media, a powerhouse for African stories and visual innovation, and the Festival Director of the Nairobi Earth Film Festival (NEFF)—a vibrant new platform set for March 2026, celebrating films that awaken humanity to the beauty and urgency of protecting our planet.

A passionate advocate for grassroots change, Thuku is also the Founder and CEO of My Green Village, a movement inspiring people to return to their roots—literally—and make their home villages greener, cleaner, and more sustainable.

Driven by creativity, community, and climate action, Thuku Kariuki stands at the intersection of media and impact—telling Africa’s stories with authenticity, brilliance, and heart.

Nduati Mambo - Cameraman & Video Editor

Mambo has worked as a cameraman/video editor for the last 13 years in both local and international productions. Started off at GBS TV in production department where he served as an assistant production manager thereafter proceeded to work with CAMERAPIX and later AFRICA 24 MEDIA as a cameraman/video editor.

In his line of work, Mambo has worked with various international media houses namely Aljazeera, Bloomberg, Arise news as well as CGTN Africa. Mambo has travelled across Africa in coverage of Swaziland elections, 2014 African Union Summit in Ethiopia, documentary filming in Ghana and Mozambique and features filming in DRC, Uganda, South Africa, Togo, Ghana, Tanzania and Zanzibar.

George Kinyanjui - Cameraman & Video Editor

George Kinyanjui is a versatile and talented filmmaker and Cameraman. Over the years he has worked on multiple projects with both regional and international media organizations such as Zuku, TVC Nigeria, CCTV Africa, Reuters, Aljazeera and ABC Australia making both short films and documentaries. As a storyteller, he takes every project as an opportunity to tell a compelling piece of narrative that educates, informs and entertains the audience.


He takes pride and passion in every filming venture and makes sure that the moments captured achieve the desired results. Kinyanjui has travelled across Africa in coverage of 2015 Sudan Elections, 2015 African Union Summit in Ethiopia, documentary filming in Namibia and Cameroon and features filming in Rwanda, Djibouti, Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania.

Daniel Furnad - Senior Producer

Daniel Furnad is a journalist, TV producer, actor, writer, director, and digital content creator, who has been in the media industry for over 3 ½ decades.

He has worked for CNN, Associated Press TV, Abu Dhabi Television, the BBC and Africa24 Media.  He has also produced content for CGTN, Deutsche Welle, TV Continental, the Rockefeller Foundation, Medicines Sans Frontieres and the Africa Child Policy Forum.

Daniel’s feature films include “Born on the 4th of July”, “Delta Force 2”, “Narcodollar”, “Demonstone”, “OSS 117: From Africa With Love”.  He has also appeared on numerous television shows and commercial advertisements.

Daniel has worked on 5 continents, reporting from the front lines of history on wars and elections, the Olympics, Football World Cup, tsunamis and earthquakes, as well as inspirational feature stories and documentaries on great Africans.  He has interviewed Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings and Jennifer Lopez.

Being cool under pressure, never afraid to try something new, always after that extra element, Daniel is a leader in the field and in the office.  He lives and breathes storytelling in his daily life, keeping across the latest formats, cinematic techniques and punch lines.

George Mbithi - Communication Strategist

George Mbithi is a visionary storyteller and strategic communicator whose work sits at the powerful intersection of message, meaning, and movement. With over 14 years of experience shaping narratives across Africa, George has become a trusted voice in development communications—helping organizations turn complex ideas into stories that inspire change, mobilize resources, and transform lives.

A specialist in strategic communications, corporate training, media engagement, and digital strategy, George has partnered with global development powerhouses including USAID, FCDO, the World Bank, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. From health and climate resilience to youth employment and impact investment, his work has consistently amplified African voices, influenced policy, and elevated brands across the continent.

At USAID’s Kenya Investment Mechanism, George led a bold communications strategy that unlocked over USD 654 million in private investment—proving that the right story, told well, can move markets as much as minds. His approach blends creativity with clarity, using evidence-based storytelling, sharp media relations, and digital innovation to ensure every message lands with impact.

Beyond the screen and the story, George is a mentor and corporate trainer passionate about building Africa’s next generation of communicators. His workshops and leadership sessions have equipped teams across sectors to communicate with authenticity, confidence, and purpose.

Samwel Mugo - Cameraman

Samwel Mugo is a Cinematographer/ Editor at Afrika Live Media (https://uwn.mjm.mybluehost.me/website_c3d77f0b/), a Pan-African media company in Nairobi, Kenya. He has worked in the media industry for the last 4 years. He is an expert in camerawork in both live and edited news programs.

He possesses excellent negotiating skills that help him find the perfect locations for filming.

He is familiar with editing software and other programs and very familiar with social networking sites and the benefits it has to offer the film industry.

For the last 4 years, Sam has worked as a correspondent journalist for several international media organizations, including Deutsche Welle and VOA.

Sam has filmed an entertainment program called Millennials 254 for South African distributor which was running in the year 2022.

Currently he is also producing wildlife content for Gamewatchers Safaris and Porini Camps and Filming Health YouTube program for Wanjiru Thuku Network which is Wellness with Wanjiru Thuku.

Wanjiru M. Thuku - Gender and Health Consultant

Wanjiru M. Thuku is a poet, author, and content creator. An internationally trained Kenyan media personality, Wanjiru is a passionate health journalist, holding a bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. Wanjiru is a gender and health consultant at Afrika Live Media.

For over seven years, she has had the privilege to work on a variety of health projects nationally and globally.

In this regard, Wanjiru, the host and producer of the Wanjiru Thuku Network (WTN) promises her viewers a broad spectrum of polished health topics sourced from research, experts, and patients/victims/survivors.

The career woman looking to inspire, excite and inform is a mum of three. Join her as she explores the dynamics of health.

James Mbugua - Producer/Host

James Mbugua is a content creator at Afrika Live Media (https://uwn.mjm.mybluehost.me/website_c3d77f0b/), a Pan-African media in Nairobi, Kenya. He has worked in the media industry for the last 2 years.

For the last 2 years, he has worked as a producer and host for an entertainment TV show called the THE MILLENIALS 254 that aimed at entertaining as well as showing the young Kenyan culture (art, fashion, music etc).

Jay has also worked as a director of photography and video editor for a health TV Show called Wellness with Wanjiru Thuku for the Wanjiru Thuku Network that is available in all social media platforms.

One of Jay’s biggest achievements is being able to tell positive and entertaining stories about his country and Africa in general

Steveaustine Wanga - Sports Host/Producer

Steveaustine Wanga is a producer/reporter/editor at Afrika Live Media (https://uwn.mjm.mybluehost.me/website_c3d77f0b/), a Pan-African media in Nairobi, Kenya.

He has worked in the media industry for the last 3 years. After graduating with a degree in journalism and mass communication, Wanga joined MMUST FM as a sports reporter.

Wambui Kangara - Host

Wambui Kangara is a dynamic and passionate show host and voiceover artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. She is excited to be a part of the talented team at Afrika Live Media (https://uwn.mjm.mybluehost.me/website_c3d77f0b/), a leading Pan-African media platform.

Wambui Kangara brings 5 months of valuable experience to her role. Having spent the last 2 months honing her skills and expertise at Afrika Live Media. Her goal in the near future is to create engaging content in addressing contentious issues prevalent in society and drive positive change.

Wambui Kamau - Writer & Producer

Wambui Kamau is a writer and production assistant at Afrika Live Media, a Pan-African media company in Nairobi, Kenya.

She has been a blogger since 2018 on BlogSpot, directed and helped produce a show called ‘ This and That ‘ on YouTube about African Literature books alongside other projects.

Weissman Muchira - Cameraman/Editor

Weissman Muchira is an upcoming cameraman/editor at Afrika Live Media a Pan-African Media Company in Nairobi. He has garnered 4months of experience working for the media industry thus far in shooting as well as editing and hopes to produce his own original stories of various topics in the long run.
